How long does credentialing with insurance takes? Is there an extra charge for it?

This depends on the individual payers and can range from 30-90 days for commercial insurance.  This is why we start with Medicare as it is the quickest and easiest to do.  There is no extra charge for credentialing.

Can I still see patients if I’m not credentialed with their insurance?

Yes IF the patient has out-of-network benefits.  This is often better as out-of-network usually pays higher reimbursement rates.

If I already have an EIN number could I use it?

This depends on how the corporate formation was done and which state you’re in.

Do you help with the EIN application?

We handle the whole process for you, sending over completed applications for your approval before submission.

I have a GROUP PTAN number that is currently under my group practice at my other job. Do I need to obtain an individual PTAN number?

Yes, you will still need to obtain an individual PTAN number. This is also known as your Medicare ID.

How do I obtain my PTAN # / Medicare ID?

In order to obtain your PTAN # (Medicare ID) you need to call The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) at 800-633-4227 and ask for “Provider Services“.
